When visiting a aquarium...

... how do you get photos of all the fish who are behind the glass? I was told to get a polarized filter. Will that get rid of all the glare from the glass? Is there a trick to not getting any glare?

Thanks a bunch,

Cathy

Move the flash off of the camera (in other words, don't use an on camera flash) & get your lens right up to the glass...Be aware that some aquarium exhibits don't allow flash photography...

I agree with Scott, it's just like photographing something behind a window.

OK, so if no flash photography is allowed, I will need to jump up with my ISO to speed things up. Unless I buy a super low light lens?

Another helpful tool when shooting through glass is to use one of those "flexible" lens hoods. You can put the camera right against the glass and it usually eliminates any reflections. They're also nice because you can fold them back when not needed.

Aquarium, great idea for getting some photos. I haven't been to a aquarium in a solid 15 to 17 years!

Funny that you bring that up, same here. Although it has been about 7 years for me.

I will need to try a flexible hood, thanks for the tips everyone
