Why are UK photo magazines so much?

I just got back from the book store and have been meaning to ask someone this: why in the world are the UK photo magazines so much more than the USA ones? The content seems to be just about the same?.

I don't think I've seen any UK magazine that's cheap. Imagine the cost of the USA mags if you had to import all your paper except for the recycled stuff like they have to over there.

Do they really need to import everything? I thought it had to do with the fact that the british pound is worth so much more than the dollar?

That's a pretty good question that I have wondered myself. That's why I will just read them at the book store and not purchase. If they have some good tips, then I might buy. But at $10.00 to has high as $29.00 for a magazine, I'll pass.

LOL I was just at book store this morning. What is funny is I will read the UK magazines at book store and buy just the magazines that are under $6.00 each. So needless to say, I didn't buy any UK magazines.

Other than "Outdoor Photography", I can't think of another US mag I would waste six bucks on. The UK mags might seem a bit pricey to some, but most are really much better than the domestic stuff, and seem to target new shooters mostly.....

Why so serious?
