I live in BC yet a lot of my photography is done in my own backyard. A lot of my shots are macro and that opens up a whole new world. Try taking a 10 square foot area and see how many different pictures you can find in that area. It can be a challenge but it sure opens the eyes and mind to possibilities. The whole idea is to make you look deeper than just the surface and see different layers, levels and what if I trieds.

When was the last time you took a piece of cystal ware and studied it under or through varying light sources? The results can be surprising.

I fly fish so this winter when the weather is lousy, I'll be doing macro pictures of fishing flies under both normal daylight and UV black light with different backgrounds. I also do some model railroading so I'll be challenging myself with taking pictures of some layouts and trying to make the pics look realistic. Try combining another hobby with your photography.

Searching the web is a fantastic idea. I've come across so many excellent photographers that have inspired and challenged me to try different styles, techniques, and views. There has been a lot of times I've sat back and said "Wow! I gotta try that!"

Try going for a walk with another photographer. You'd be surprised at how much you can see when you watch another using a camera. One thing I enjoy doing is going for a walk with a beginner photographer. I've been surprised at what a fresh pair of eyes can see and what a fresh mind with no limits can do. Sharing knowledge can unlock doors of inspiration for you too.

Get out, experiment, have fun!!

Like KVRNut suggests, try limiting yourself to expand your creativity. You could choose a single focal length, or a single aperture setting and force yourself to work with those "limitations" to expand your creativity.
