Can I use canned air to clean lenses? Or is canned air to much pressure and may damage the glass?

I was told that you don't want to use canned air because of the pressure and the moisture that can be created.

I have to agree with Ziggy - I too was told by a repair tech not to use canned air.

Canned air has enough pressure to scratch the lens with any dust - plus the moisture and contain chemicals such as Difluoroethane which is is an organofluorine compound used as a refrigerant. Directly used on your skin can cause frostbite.
Want to use THAT on your lens?

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

The propellant will leave a residue on the elements, I'd advise against it...

Anything that can be removed with canned air, could be removed with a brush. I use a sable hair paint brush.
