Yeah I remember when they released those and instantly thought about the scientists who said the had the amount of stars in the universe counted. Both of those spots were what most of us were calling voids or dark matter areas when we looked at them trough our meager telescopes, we were proven wrong. :lol:

Very cool and very humbling as well. Another thing to think about, the moving 3D portion showed maybe just 1000 galaxies or so. That's just ONE-HUNDRED MILLIONTH of everything out there.

Back in the far past, I spent most of my career working in and around astronomy. But we didn't have such nice image processing. And "3D" presentations were little balls on wires in black boxes for planetariums and such. How times have changed.
