THE VALUE OF YOUR PRODUCT

Photography as an art form is quite different from the ubiquity of common, everyday snapshots. Those of us who are serious about our work know this very well, and while the ocassional, lucky shot of the hobbyist or snapshooter may result in an extraordinary image... the majority of truly worthwhile photographs are created by the eyes, instincts, technical abilities and creative talents of those who capture and produce Fine Art Photographs. With all of the new consumer-level digital imaging devices and gadgetry flooding today's market, capturing photographic images and video has never been easier, or more accessible, as cameras are literally everywhere.

Many of these devices are capable of producing images almost rivaling those of higher-end, professional level, DSLR cameras... but almost is where they fail to measure up. For example, most point and shoot, consumer level cameras have fixed lenses which limit the range of what and how the camera sees... and ultimately captures through it's view. The quality of the fixed-built-in-lense glass is generally inferior as well which aslo diminishes the final result.

The intrinsic value then of professional level photography work consists of implementation and utilization of professional equipment and one additional, vital and key element... which is, the Artist's unique vision. One should keep this in mind when contemplating the price of any particular work of Fine Art Photography.

There are no substitutes or shortcuts for creating high-quality-professional-level images and the correct equipment, properly used is a major factor. With such a wide variety of brands, makes and models to select from, the choices will generally be based on the obvious considerations of budget, function, user purpose, and other subjective preferences. A good starting point is to aquire the basics, learn to use them and move up as time, budget, knowledge and needs allow.
