Any good A7 (first gen) Nikon adapters?

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum but I think I'm gonna be around here a lot! So I'm introducing myself with a question already. Sorry if I'm double posting and this has been asked before, I searched for a while but couldn't find anything. I recently got an A7 (1st gen), I also have a Nikon D7100 and I've been searching for a good adapter that I can get to use my Nikon lenses with my Sony camera. I saw the Commlite ENF-E1 PRO ver.06 but I'm not sure if it will work on my A7 since it seems to only work on the newer models. What do you guys suggest I get? Would that one work?
Thanks in advance!

Hm. Seems a pretty straightforward search, but perhaps I'm too close to the subject...

If you look for "nikon lens adapter sony a7" you get a page that has this pointer as the 2nd link:

http://briansmith.com/nikon-lens-adapters-sony-e-mount-cameras/

Which lists the Commlite as well as others. The usual go-to adapter is a Metabones.

FWIW the adapted lenses will be fully manual. And I'm not sure you want to use a DX lens on a full-frame body. But that depends upon which lenses you have.

Changing systems always has a cost.

Thanks for the reply!! I did that search and saw that post, but like I mentioned above they all say they are not compatible with the first generation A7. I want an autofocus adapter, so I was wondering if that is true (seems to be) and if there was any that I'd actually be able to use. Otherwise, I'd just go with a manual one I guess. Like you mentioned, Metabones has been the top recommendation followed by Commlite. :-)

Either (a) no one sees any value in creating an AF-S adapter for Nikon lenses, or (b) it's not possible, or (c) there's no market.

Essentially, you either manual focus, or buy lenses for your other system. This is why it's a pain to try to use two systems.

FWIW I have a Panasonic G7, micro 4/3s, and one lens for it. Which is all I need for event videography. Otherwise, I use my Nikon D750.

There's definitely something going on with the first gen A7. I'll just whichever lens I'd rather have on the Sony than the Nikon. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help!
