Tested a Sony a7R III today, I didn't like the ergonomics

I want to buy a new mirrorless camera and was thinking about the Sony a7R III.  BUT, when I went to test one out at the store, I just couldn't get over the handling.  Do any of you feel the button have a strange layout and ergonomics just feel off with this thing?

This is why I encourage anyone looking to select a system to go lay hands on the candidates. You must hold the camera use it, explore it, to be sure that it feels comfortable and makes sense.

The camera you want is the one you can't put down.

I've known plenty of folks that have ended up with Sony products, while I would never. If you don't care for Sony, move on. There are other choices.

Well if you thought this one is bad, you should try the first gen Nikon mirrorless cameras!  But I agree, the Sony grip to me, feels a little  shallow.

Anytime you switch makers, the camera will feel odd at first. I used Nikon and Canon felt odd to me. If I had bought a Canon, I'm sure Nikon would have felt off. Two weeks after using any camera it will begin to feel familiar. If it feels way off, then you may never get along with it. If it only feels slightly off, you will adjust and adapt and it will begin to feel normal.
