Sony A7rii viewfinder question

4 years 4 months ago #667857 by vigilante1
When doing landscape shots (with tripod), I find that my finger’s proximity to the viewfinder, shuts off the back screen. Usually this happens as I’m trying to change the camera settings. Is there a way to turn off this viewfinder sensor so the back screen is always on?

G'day mate

Your Q caused me to investigate my Lumix 2500 to compare notes ....

a) once I open the articulated screen and place it into the camera rear face for live-view mode, it is 'on' all the time and the EVF is 'off'. Waving my finger around the eyepiece makes no difference -the display is live all the time
b) -if- I want the EVF 'on' I need to press a Fn button to reset the optics to the EVF screen rather than the articulated screen

So- it seems that the Sony (being a spunky, crash-hot camera) 'should' have some method of doing this, but I'm not sure how ~ hopefully another forum member will have the goods

Hope this helps

turn off eye detection in menu that will disable the sensors next to the viewfinder
