Autofocus suddenly stopped working!

1 year 2 weeks ago #695489 by JaneH
I have a Sony DSC-HX400V and until now it's been great. Suddenly (two days before our holiday!) it has stopped doing the autofocus. It sort of works in the LED screen but when I look through the viewfinder everything is just blurry. I use the viewfinder more than the LED screen when outdoors so this is a real problem for me. I'm hoping I've just jiggled some setting or something stupid.

Right now the lens is set to AF/Zoom but changing it to DMF or MF seems to make no difference. I've downloaded the PDF manual but it doesn't help. Any advice is most welcome. Thanks.

In case anyone else has this problem, I've solved it. It was indeed a setting. I just had to turn the dioptic control (next to the view finder) until the focus cleared. I don't know how it got turned in the first place as it's not easy to turn, but it works now!
