We are in separation, so the wife (and internet) keeps me busy.

You're pretty close to the ocean right?  Are you getting out and taking photos?

Pinkie, here are the movement rules:
Off to (nearest) shop and back. Proof of adress and ID with you. Shopping and slips on the way back.
Proof if on your or back way from emergency (Dr, dentist)
2nd person in the car should not be a driver, meaning they needed a driver to emergency and should be on back seat where possible.
No walking to a shop if you own a car.
No walking dogs.
No exercise outside of the yard.

Except if you live in rural SA, where the masses live in small houses, ignore police and live in anarchy.
Things will change one the rumour stops that it is a white man’s illness.

(Two couples was arrested at their wedding and went to jail, with their wedding guests.)

Oh WOW that is super strict!  Do you have a big yard to get out?  If you don't have a yard, how are you supposed to walk your dog?

Smaller yard. My wife and her daughter each have a Pekinese. :S
It is big enough for them.

Didn't know you had a daughter. How old?  Pekinese are so CUTE.  How far is the ocean from you?

No, just 3 of us. Wife and daughter are pharmacists, luckily wife locums, so she swapped out most of her shifts and daughter studies further at the moment.

There’s a smaller shopping centre less than a km from us and a huge one 2-3km away.

“faucet”... No-one here would know what that is.
Until the end of apartheid you could drink from any tap in South Africa.
With looting and mismanagement things deteriorated, so best ask in the area.
Still safe in all cities.
