Pinkie, we know what you mean, but here we talk about a garage (as pumps were previously connected to car workshops).
So we go to the garage to fill up with petrol. 
The press wants to be fancy and will call it a petrol station.
Gas is in a compressed can and some people cook on it’s flames.
SA local lingo.

Most locals have wood delivered in 500 quantities. 
Some have a second pile of cheaper wood when they have a fireplace, to be cosy or warm up the house.

Pinkie, it takes about ten pieces of wood for a braai (BBQ). 
That gives me only one per week. 
That means it lasts a year. 
We buy every year.
