I was awake when the alarm bell went off. Now crawling at 5 kmph on the highway to a city meeting. A 30 min drive becomes a 90 min drive.

Not one day of snow shoveling, though.

Yup, and we haven't had a drought since I've been here. I'm glad you're happy there, but I can drive to the nearest small city in fifteen minutes, and its fifteen miles away. No stop signs, no traffic lights...no traffic.

I live in Africa. No new roads built in the last 25 years, only toll gates put up.
No new dams built, not even planned. We have blackouts because power stations are old. The two new ones break because of inferior building materials.
Borders are sidestepped. Between 5-8% population - illegal. Huge population growth because of a govt baby grant.

Sounds like you'd actually be happier shoveling a little snow a couple times a year?

I'm either shoveling or mowing the grass....Mundane is survivable if some variety is included....

I did away with my 6x8m lawn. Sold lawnmower an weedeater. What a great parting that was. Do not miss them one bit!

City life here is called urban.
I live a suburban life.
I lived the country life.
Too many people knew too many untruths about one another there.

I lived in a small town.
Even people that did not know me knew untruths about me. Not all small towns gossip, but majority here do.

Then you lived in the wrong small town, methinks....My local town is quite middle class, and there isn't any gossip mills here. It might have a lot to do with the women mostly work?

Must be. I think about 50% of women worked there.
