A life time ago, I was a truck driver, and my wife came along a few times. She had a blah opinion of my work.  Being in a car for long periods is a hot or cold situation for many IMO.

Happy New Year all!

I presume there are very few spouses that would find their husband’s work exciting.

When my younger daughter was stil in boarding school, she spent a lot of holidays and weekends with me in the car.
But she is married already and lives 1750 km away.
My wife of 3 years now went with once, I did all the skateboard parks in the area. I know where they are, so a fast job with lots of time for stops for coffee, cake, lunch...

Pinkie, you get to ask all the questions. My turn.
How did you go into the new year this time around?

1750 km is a bit of a distance, you get out there often?

This year?  Way different, no friends, no family, just me with an attitude that 2021 will be better.  I'm also looking to spend more time exploring in 2021.  What about you?  Any big hopes and desires for the new year?

I was there twice in 6 years. They came to visit twice.
I am not planning anything. I missed a year of income so far.
There is still no light at the end of the tunnel.
Our borders are closed and it is my working season.

Oh that's nice, so taking turns makes seeing each other easier.

That's right you have a busier time of the year with your work right?  (Normally)  Speaking of what you do, how is road navigation down there?  Pretty accurate?  Does Google map car get it around there?  I've actually seen it once up here.

Pinkie, you can do the Streetview on Google Maps just about everywhere in South Africa.
You must try it.
Say if you need instructions.
