Can Law & Order be topped?

Totally non-photographic question. Can the original Law & Order series ever be topped? Seems like every other new show last fall and half the new ones coming on are about cops and attornies or cops and attornies. We even have Law & Order UK (which isn't too bad if you can understand the UK accents.)

Just wondering if anyone out there thinks TV writers are lacking in originality. Law & Order was a classic that I don't think can be topped. Let's see something original from those highly paid writers - not 2nd class clones.

Opinions?

Never watched it, I was religious about Hero's, Lost and Prison Break. All of which are no longer being filmed.

LOL people from the US can't understand UK accents?! I thought that was a myth. So THAT'S why all the UK shows are dubbed into US English.

Those were AWESOME shows each one of them. The ending of LOST was a bit lame, but still, the show was good.

Battlestar Galactica was amazing.

I heard good things about Battlestar Galactica. I remember watching the original show back in the 80s. That was cool.

I think I've seen that once, don't remember much about it.

All I remember is the cool robot baddies and the fact that when the space dudes went to earth they could jump really high because they were use to a lot more gravity for some reason.

I use to play GSG games, I guess I was a fan when I was a kid... I remember having one of the robot baddies as a toy.

Watch the new battlestar, it was one of the best shows on tv in a long time.

Do you live in the UK by any chance? And if you get our TV shows and movies, do you always understand someone from one of our deep south states? I understand most of what I hear on UK shows, with a few phrases lost because you word things differently, but I have trouble with the one accent from the UK that makes all the "THs" sound like "Fs"

Billy Piper, when she played Dr. Who's side-kick was difficult for us.

So, no, I don't think it's an urban myth. But we still watch most English shows that are on TV here, like Midsomer Murders and Dr. Martin. Bring 'em on.

Each TV season I wait with anticipation to find a real, break-out hit. And each season I've been sadly disappointed, Blue Blood with Tom Selleck is pretty good - maybe the best of the new shows this year in my opinion.

One test I use - do I ever want to watch reruns. And I have to agree - when it comes to Law & Order (the original one) I watch those episodes over and over again. Can't say the same about L&O: SVU or L&O:CI.
