It is so hot here in Costa Rica. We are in the middle of dry season.  Hot, dusty and then hotter.

Same here. We had a few days in the top '30's degrees. (100F)

We had low 70's here, it was a incredible weekend for relaxing.  Hassner... 100F is warm, do you guys get much humidity there?

Alex, not a lot of rivers, but surrounded by the sea. The cold Atlantic ocean on the west and the warm Indian ocean on the south. The two meet at Cape Point. That was a bit of freak weather. The summer average for Cape Town is closer to 80F.

This has been the hottest dry season that Costa Rica has experienced in many years.  Everyone is hoping that the rainy season starts sooner rather than later.  But, March is the hottest month in Costa Rica so we have a few more weeks of extreme heat to get through before the cooling rains start.

South Africa has many weather patterns. Cape Town region has a winter rainfall and is thus very popular as film destination, as insurance against loss because of bad weather is a lot less. The Rand (and labour) is a lot less here and the summer days start at 5.30 and ends at 8.30pm. So a Tv advert can be shot in eg 3 in stead of 4 days. There is a lot of overseas influences in our architecture, so a lot of countries can be faked here. I was scouting since last week for a German advert. City and suburban exteriors...

Wow Hassner, that's interesting about SA being a film destination. Costa Rica could never be a popular film destination because we have too many power outages and there is not a lot of technical expertise here.  This is still very much a third world country.

Power is not such a problem, as they use generators most of the time. Three phase power is needed and is only found in factories, big restaurants etc.

I'm working on Saturday. Told a friend I'll shoot her 50th birthday on Sat night. I have to drop and pick up my daughter (18) from a music festival. I'll rest on Sunday.

I am having a rare, bad day.  Can't seem to get out of this funk.  I guess I should start counting my blessings.  One, two, three.....

Enjoy having a bad day. This way you can better appreciate the good ones. Worry if it is a bad week. It would be a week wasted.
