Do you know foreign languages? I really like Chinese, I even once wanted to start learning it, but it is very difficult

Foreign? Yes, English.

French being my mother tongue, I still need a translator
just to make sure! :P

None fluently,  only very elementary "school" standard French which was occasionally "enhanced" by my travels to Europe over the years.

Couple of years ago , tried to have a go at learning Japanese ,  but  that didn't go far , because of my gradually failing memory .

NS wrote : ..."I still need a translator" .

What translator do you use ,  NS ? : dictionary , phrase book , or google type ?
