My girlfriend asked who James Arness was tonight. I shook my head. I thought everyone knew him. I hope they have a weekend of Gunsmoke on one of the cable channels soon. He will be missed.

He defined the "good guy in the white hat". Was a great character, and you wanted to believe he was a great person off the set too. He exuded charm and charisma.

BtW did you know Paul Mcartney was in a band before WIngs? I'm hearing someone say, what's a Wings?

If I'm not mistaken "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza" are both on TVLand Channel every afternoon for a few hours.. Check that out and maybe you can DVR them.. ;)
