I have to partially disagree with one of listed points. That would be where he says to take lots of photos...Now yes, take more than one or two shots, but the statement "Remember, pixels are free. This isn’t film" is actually incorrect....There is a cost involved & that cost is the shutter life of a camera...If you go around taking 200+ shots of every event or shoot that you do & you do this daily, it's only a matter of time before the shutter will crap out & then you have an expensive repair. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that digital gives me the instant ability to see my shots & know when I screwed up & need to re-shoot something, but 200+ shots ?, maybe if it was a paid shoot, where my profits would compensate for repairs or a new camera, but I'm sure most people on these forums are simply amateurs & can't readily afford shutter repairs or new cameras.
I also have to say that ,depending on the type of photography, shooting in the brightest part of the day isn't always a mistake. I shoot a lot of macro & the additional light helps in that you can stop your lens down further thus increasing the DOF, or increasing your shutter speed (in the case of non static subjects...

Dude, shutters usually outlast the camera.

That said, shooting 1000 shots of basically the same thing = noob to me.
