WOW! Thank you so much for posting this! I was planning on "shooting" some fireworks the traditional way tomorrow, but I think I might give this technique a try, too. I love the first image in the article!

I like. More good stuff to try.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Just in the nick of time... Our show starts in a few hours. Weather watch says it might rain. :S

This was such a fun technique to try!! I had a BLAST last night trying to figure out how to press the shutter button, focus and de-focus, and compose the shot all at the same time! I'm sure the non-photographers sitting around me were thinking to themselves, "That poor girl's having a heck of a time with that camera!"

Here's one of my favorites from the night. To see more of my photos using this technique, visit my blog post here: lovethatshot.com/blog/?p=10740

Did anyone else try this technique? I'd love to see your photos...

Nice job.

I was going to try this, but we ended up at a house party where the back yard view we were promised was obstructed by an alley with three lights, a telephone pole, transformer and wires, a basketball backstop, a three story rooftop, and a big tree. No pictures, but I did get to see 20 minutes of colorful glow in the sky and listen to the booms.
