Anybody analyzing their images for Gestalt principles?

At a camera club presentation about 8 years ago, a local speaker expressed his opinions on the importance of visual Gestalt - the way that visual arrangements appeal or detract subconsciously. This led to my buying the book "Imaging and Perception" by Zakia. Great stuff in the book, much of it easy to understand. If you want to know a little bit more about why you or other folks like any given image, I recommend delving into visual Gestalt principles. Do any of you have other resources on this topic?

Thanks for sharing this. I was just shopping for a new book on Amazon this morning and still had it opened. That book you referenced "Perception and Imaging: Photography--A Way of Seeing" just had a new revision this year. Yeh! Just bought the Kindle version and will start reading today.

Seriously? $30 for a bunch of bits? I'll spend the extra $1.57 and get the print version, in color.

Good find, though. Thanks.
