Need some tips...

Hey guys,

I've got kind of a double question going on here so please bare with me!

my first question is a simple one.
Now, it related to taking macro shots of the eye I started a small album on my facebook page that solely close up of peoples eyes, mainly because I like how each eye has unique features. But my problem is, I want to know if its possible to eliminate the reflections in a persons eye, I was playing around with the lightening (I have a small studio set I have 6 lights total but I don't use them all at once) but no matter what I could always see a reflection of my hands or camera in the center of my eye. Now I haven't tried this on  another person yet because I want to make sure I can get it spot on before I start taking shots of others.

My second question, I'm rather nervous about to be honest but recently I a co-worker at my job was telling people how I do photography, and now a person wants me to do a portrait of her. I have very little experience with studio's but I do have a small set, a backdrop and lights, as mentioned above I do have a total of 6 lights. I know I don't need to use all of those. But, does anyone have any advice for well doing portraits? i'm honestly really nervous about it the only experience I do have is doing a few portraits outside, but the type of photo she wants requires a backdrop.

You're asking two questions. Might be better to have 2 separate threads.

In any event...

Reflections? A polarizer will be required. Diffuse light, gobos, and camera placement will all come into play.
