ProMediaGear vs Really Right Stuff tripods

6 years 1 month ago #568804 by Ted Helm
Since when did ProMediaGear start making tripods?   www.promediagear.com/Tripods_c_79.html

These look good.  Kind of like RRS and are priced the same too.

What do you think?

You kidding, I'll take either.

I see what you mean, the both do look alike.  RRS are made in USA.  There's a difference.

Well seeing that both are priced about the same, and RRS has been around for the lions share, I'd go with he RRS.  However on that note, the tripods from PMG do look of high quality.  Will be interested to hear from someone that has one of these.  :toetap:

I have one of their flash brackets and love it.  Can't comment on their tripods, but if they are like the flash brackets, I'm sure it's great quality.

I just took another look at the PMG one, I have to say, it looks nice. But I just don't know if it's worth the price tag they are asking. RRS, I've owned and know others that have owned these tripods for a long time.  When you shell out a grand with them, you know what you are getting.

Top plates look a bit different from the RRS.  Visually they look nice, but can comment anything else.  Limited reviews.

I know of only RRS, the other one I can't say I've heard before.

RRS would get my vote.  Only because I've bought from them before and love their tripods.

Well ProMedia has done a great job jumping into this side of the market.  Definitely a worthy competitor.  IMO they are just a bit bulkier and heavier than the RRS.
