BH-25 vs. BH-30 vs BH-55 for holding 300mm f/2.8?

I'm looking for the smallest ball head that will hold a mounted 300mm f/2.8.  I know the BH-55 will hold it with ease, just not sure on the smaller two.

Let me know if you have used either and it they could hold a 300mm f/2.8.

Thank you!

Having just picked up a Nikon 200-500, I think you have the wrong idea. Get a gimbal. A ball head is bad enough for a 70-200; I'm not even going to try with the new one. I have a clutch I can use until I can afford a gimbal head.

At what point should you get a gimbal head vs ball head?

When the lens+camera becomes too cumbersome to manage on a ball head.

IOW start with the ball head. When you get larger lenses, you'll figure it out.

It is possible to buy a head that is too small and light.  Pretty hard to buy one that too large and heavy.  The purpose of a tripod is to hold the camera without any motion.  Nothing else matters.
