Hey guys, my new tripod has has spikes in them.  Will I have trouble bringing this as a carry on during flights?

That's a TSA question. And you'll probably get different answers depending upon who you speak with...

I think you'll be fine. Worse case scenario, they will keep your tripod during the flight, or put it down below.  Plan ahead and make sure you have it in a bag.

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.  However I would just call up TSA to be sure.

My tripod has spikes in the legs and I always bring mine with me when traveling as carry on.  Never had any problems from the airlines.

How long are the spikes? Under 3", you'll be fine.
