3 Legged Thing? No. Manfrotto is owned by Vitec, which also owns Gitzo. And others.

My husband has two tripods from this company.   One is called Brian or something like that.  Can't recall the other.  It's a nice tripod.

How many tripod companies competed for these awards?  Would you happen to know which of these tripods include metal spikes in it's feet?

Man, I had owned one of these tripods years ago!  I saw these guys at Photo Plus in New York city, I want to say that was 2013 or might have been 2012.   Dang, long time ago.  This tripod was stolen with the rest of my gear back in June '14.  These guys have been grinding away for a long time.  Not surprised they are winning these awards, that tripod rocked.

I've owned 2 of their tripods, good win for them.  I've not heard of these awards, but an award is an award.  Good on them!

Brian all the way.  16" folded is pretty sweet considering the height when extended.  However what I can't tell is how thick are those legs?

Hey Fitch,

How you doing over there?!  While it's a great honor to be nominated on this list and 3 Legged Thing earned their spots, Manfrotto and Gitzo are the final winners here:  tech.lucies.org/awards/

I heard this directly from 3 Legged Thing.  Thought I would share that with you.
