RRS tripods vs Promediagear

What do you know about these ProMediaGear  tripods?  Really how do they compare to RRS?

Both high end equipment but I went for the Gitzo line system
because of the equivalent quality but the not so crazy prices.
Light is free… capturing it is not!

Not same pricing?  I thought Gitzo tripods can get $1000+  too?

I said "line system" I think. I considered the quality first. The extent
of the options within any given system. Then I compared prices.

I am in central Europe and Italy is right next door as the other brands
may come from further away. Had I been back home in Canada, Gitzo
would have been studied like any other system but I would probably
have chosen the Canadian made Jobu Design Algonquin tripod system
since I already have two Jobu Design Black Widow Pro II gimbals and
I love these things..

I am in a position where I can afford anything but I make a point of not
trying to saving money but spending it better and clever investments.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Gitzo have levelling bases that others may not have.

BTW, Gitzo Serie 5 has the beefiest tripod legs on the
market at 43mm ∅ ! With time, I got 2 for wildlife and
2 for on location work.

Their tripods are nice too, save your money on their bullheads.  I personally don't care for it.

A friend has a RRS tripod, I'm not sure of the model but that thing is gorgeous.  He paid a grip for it too, not sure I would.  But it was a fine looking tripod though.

Frankly you can't go wrong with either.  I like that you can get apex color options with promedia ones.  I think their 42mm is just too large.  Their smaller 34mm is a nice option.
