ProMedia Gear BH1 PMG Ball Head back ordered

9 months 3 weeks ago #654457 by J Hemingway
I was going to jump on a RRS bullhead and then came across an article about Promedia gear tripod, which lead me to their ball head.  It looks decent, but is back ordered till end of August.  have any of you used this ball head before and can share your thoughts on it?  I would be really interested to know how smooth is the movement, when you lock it down, does it stay put?  Would you spend the $$ again on this head?

Thanks for your help.

At this higher end of gear, they are all working great.
Different models and possibly materials which comes
down to convenience and preferences. The problem
you have is where to stop spending.

Well that is a tough one.  I know another photographer who has one of their tripods, and it's nice.  Very nice.  But looking at this ball head, I'm not sure I would sway this way.  I'm more RRS.

They make really good flash brackets, I can tell you that much.  I have their Boomerang from a few years back and it's very well put together.

Hard to tell, but it looks bulky.  Strange design.
