Peak Design like tripods

Are there any other tripods like the Peak Design one?  I'm speaking from a size and weight standpoint?

PD came up with an alternative design but not
real solutions / innovations. In term of weight it
is in the same ball park as many others.

The definitely negative point, for me, is the ab-
sence of pan function of the ballhead.

Conclusion, function trumps design… or should!

I am not a potential user.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

No. That was the whole point of their design.

Alex has a review video, which you should watch, to see what aspects set it apart.

There are plenty of other products that weigh the same. This one is a bit smaller than others. I'm unaware of any comparable products out there, but it's likely only a while before we see a cheap knock-off.

Pricey tripod, but digging that size.  Oh yeah, won't be long before Chinese knock that off.

I think they would get a lot more sales on this tripod if they allowed other ball heads to connect to it.  Just my 2 cents.  That ball head doesn't look like something I would want to use.

I bet this year we'll see at least one knock off to this tripod

5D mark II gripped | Canon 100L | Canon 85 1.8 | Sigma 50 1.4 | Tamron 28-75 2.8 | 580ex II | 430ex II x 2 |
