Waterproof tripod options

Aside from the Sirui W2204, are there any other waterproof tripods  out there that are priced reasonable (Under $500-600)?

If you are around fresh water, does it matter if the tripod is waterproof or not?  Salt water is what kills tripods right?  Fresh water won't harm a tripod or will it?

Andy, what is claimed is BS, the most preposterous, ludicrous
idea ever!

CF made tripods are waaaaay less reactive chemically than a
metal one to say salt water; so really no need to seal them.

At the budget you have, you could get a brilliant and BS free
new or use Gitzo or other high end tripod.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Really?
Waterproof tripods?
WTF?
ive spent my life on the coast, up to my elbows in salt water with tripods, caught in monsoonal rain, even pissed on by the occasional canine.
Just rinse it off when I get home and hang it in the garage to dry for the next flood.
my oldest tripod is at least 30 years old. Still as smooth as a baby’s arse.
the newest is a Sirui about 8 years old . Never asked if it was WP.
Certainly didn’t pay $500 for it.
Stability and weight are my only considerations. Maybe ease of use is becoming a factor. Hands aren’t what they used to be.

That's incorrect. In the US a Gitzo tripod (no head) starts at $600 (base travel CF model) and can go to over $1000.

On the other hand, his budget would cover most 3LT models, which are perfectly serviceable compared to RRS, Manfrotto, Gitzo, and other overpriced "high end" models.

Waterproof, however... can't comment on that.

But if you are using in just fresh water, does it really matter?

No problem, Pat. Just control for fine sand eventually.
