Best tripod for Tamron 600mm G2 lens, along with ball head and release plate ???

3 years 7 months ago #694311 by rprakash
Hi,
I am having Tamron 600mm G2 lens, and now planning to buy a tripod and ball head for that.
I selected few of those is manfrotto 190 and 055 and manfrotto bhq2 ballhead with 200PL release plate.

Now the question here is, since Tamron ring collor base length is 90 mm, and this 200PL length looks smaller than 90mm, is it good enough to handle this ultrazoom lens, or
Can you suggest, some good plates or ballhead that can be properly fit with its collor base.

Thanks,
Rohit

It is very important to call things by their right name when it
comes to technology. You don't have a Tamron 600mm G2
but a Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 G2, right?

Any fair mid range tripod will do the job. Since it is not an "IF"
lens and goes through morphology change when zooming and
focusing, not solution will be perfect so a bit of compromise is
expected. An arca-swiss compatible gimbal could represent a
better solution.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Hi Nikon shooter.
Thanks for your reply.
You are right. That is the same Model lens...

As of now, I am not thinking to spend so much on gimbal head for some reason, but in future I will go for that one..
I have done some more R&D over the ball heads and found that, Manfrotto XPro BHQ6 bullhead is having a ARCA style plate base...And that would be a better choice compared to bhq2..

What's your suggestions here about this bulkhead ???
