OK really torn and need advice

I have about $150-$200 on my Visa I can spend on a tripod. It is no longer a want but has become a need, my current one can barely support the 5dmii in horizontal, we won't mention vertical. I have two I am considering. Both are off brands but have been told they are both good and reliable. Both can support up to 15lbs one up to 16.8.

Option 1) www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/745960-RE...a_Pro_263AB_100.html I have heard of this brand but not in regards to tripods. I was told it has a 180* rotation on the center column, how often would I use this? I was also informed this was good for macro and outdoors work as well as work with kids. Not to mention a life time guarantee. Also comes with 2 QR plates and a ball head.

Option 2) www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/687331-RE...Aluminum_Tripod.html I have not heard of this brand at all. Seems like a basic tripod.

I can't really see for sure how I would go wrong here but maybe I would like the features on the first one? Should I wait or invest more on a Manfrotto? I want them light weight as I do outdoor work and will need to lug the tripod around.

Man, there are lots of sticks out there. I've not heard of the Oben either, but they both look fairly well built, and I'd probably go with the one with the higher weight limit.

You can get a Tiltall for $100, but it isn't real light. Holds a lot though.

HTH,

Matthew :)

I would go with your first one. I have a head similar to that one and love it. The center column moving 180 degrees wouldn't matter much because the head would go 360 degrees. I use mine all the time and it works great for panning shots. you'll love it.

Well if the vanguard bag is anything to go by, it should be really good quality.
