While fog might deter some photographers from grabbing their gear and heading out, as you can see in this photograph by David W. Shaw, fog can add a lot of beauty to a photo. In this case, the low clouds act like a softbox, softening harsh light and shadows that might otherwise distract our attention from the beautiful textures and colors of the shoreline. That reflection isn’t bad either!
