What's your name and where do you live?

Hi, my name is Martin Wieland, I live in Austria close to Vienna

What's your most used camera?

For my model shoots I use the Nikon d4, for the studio my Hasselblad h3dII. I’m planning to buy the Nikon d5 this year

What software do you use to get the best out of your images?

Adobe Photoshop and bridge plus some plugins for Photoshop

How long have you been interested in photography?

I started to study in a school for photography when I was 15. since then I am interested in photography.

Mind sharing your latest shot? We'd love to see it.

Please tell us a bit about the photo. What makes this one special for you?

I worked with this model for many times, every time we shoot, we create something special. I would even call her a friend, not only a model. she trusts me, is completely relaxed when we are working and that's why we always make great pictures. this picture was taken during a break, I saw her leaning against the window, smoking a cigarette and looking at her cellphone - so I had to take this shot

What kind of photography interests you the most?

Of course nude photography, but I generally like to look at photos and get inspired from them. (doesn’t have to be nude pics always)

What's your strongest skill?

Getting the maximum out of my models. I’m quite easy going when I’m shooting, we always have fun on the set, the models relax and show me how they really are. they don't play a role anymore. the advantage for me is that I get quite natural pictures. and in my opinion the picture reflects the mood on the set. I have a lot of photos where my models are laughing.

Remember the first photo you ever shot? Tell us about it.

Don't know anymore. I know that it was shot with the camera of my dad (who is photographer as well) and I’m sure it was a flower or a sunset ;-)

Where's your favorite place to shoot?

I’m quite open minded, I find some good places nearly everywhere, but of course I love to shoot close to the sea, or in modern, stylish lofts. I think every location has its own flair

What photographer(s) inspire you the most?

Definitely Herb Ritts. I love the way he was taking his pictures. strong, clear, with style. he was the one who brought me to photography. in the meantime, I have lots of good photographers who's work I like. (peter Lindbergh, Ellen von Unwerth, Frank de Mulder, and many more)

Do you follow any routine when you shoot photos?

Not really.

What's one question you'd like to ask the community & next member we interview?

What's more important for you? a technical perfect picture or a picture which is not perfect, but where you can see emotions in it
