Travel and photography have always mixed very well and that's probably why it's one of the favorite categories for amateurs and enthusiasts. One of the definitions of travel photography says that it is a style that portrays a land, its people or the feeling of a time and place. Others call it a more sophisticated alternative to vacation photos.
But without doubt, there is no shortage of inspiration for travel photography. Generations of amateurs and pros have been influenced by the amazing images printed in National Geographic and other travel magazines. While it is a category that is less monetized than fashion or wedding photography, it is in many respects far more exciting than either of them.
Travel photography is also one of, if not the best way to record the feeling of a place you have visited. Even without a financial or professional reward, the joys of capturing beautiful moments on your travels compensate for everything else.
