I was never a fan of the idea of combining landscape photography and Lightroom. I am a Photoshop veteran and I would use it for anything more elaborate than basic exposure settings.
I also made a mental association between wedding photography and Lightroom some time ago, and it took me a while to break that thinking pattern.
After considerable time spent learning its secrets, I've turned Lightroom into my first choice for editing landscapes. I find it easier than Photoshop and it has greatly speeded up my workflow.
I used to stick to Photoshop for brush work, but after you get the hang of it in LR, you'll notice it's easier.
Sure, there are obviously things Photoshop can't be beat at like compositing, remodeling or adding elements. It is still the undisputed champion in advanced editing, but for things like color correction, toning, cropping and local exposure adjustments, LR takes the cake.
Every beginning landscape photographer should learn how to use it and hiding behind the "I-want-to keep-it-natural" philosophy is not an option if you want your work to be appreciated.
