There is the world, and then there's Iceland. At least that's how I like to think of this unique country. Iceland is one of those places that looks like it was computer-generated for blockbuster films. The landscape is truly unique and breathtaking and it has always been an instant attraction for photographers worldwide.

1. Vatnajökull glacier
This is the largest glacier mass in Europe, and together with its surroundings, it became a national park in 2008.The entire region is a never-to-be-forgotten experience for anyone visiting and the incredible energy, but also the serenity, will give you the feeling of being in a surreal world.
2. Jökulsárlón lagoon
The translation is "glacial river lagoon" and it is, indeed, a lake full of icebergs that recently became the deepest lake in Iceland, with a depth of 814 ft. It is considered one of the natural wonders of Iceland and the entire area has been the setting of Hollywood movies like font Die Another Day, Tomb Raider and Batman Begins.
3. Geysers
Iceland is famous for its geysers. In this land of ice-cold serenity, to see the abundance of hot springs is a real treat. The name itself originates from that of The Great Geyser. The water temperature is about 125 ºC and whenever it bursts, it's a great opportunity for spectacular photos. Most of these springs can be found along a 100m wide strip that's approximately 500m long, forming an unmistakable vista.
4. Reykjanes Peninsula
There's a lot to be seen here. More than half of the peninsula is covered with lava flows and you can see lava cones and craters of different shapes and sizes. It's a real paradise for volcano lovers and photographers. It's also home to the spectacular Blue Lagoon and it, too, has several high-temperature geothermal areas.
Obviously, these four incredible attractions are just a small part of the real story Iceland can tell you, both visually and spiritually. There is much more to discover in this rugged, wild land of true beauty.
