I don’t know about you, but when new gear debuts, I get really excited. And boy, there is something to be excited about coming from Syrp.

I’ve talked about Syrp’s outstanding line of motion control time-lapse products in the past. But their new offering is set to change the game in the world of neutral density filters.

It’s called the Super Dark Variable ND Filter.

The Super Dark is a variable ND filter with a range of 5-10 stops of adjustable exposure. It has hard stops at the maximum and minimum ends for limiting X pattern at the extreme end, a common floor in other Variable ND filters. Made of high-quality Japanese glass, the Super Dark offers clear, precise results that allow you to tackle long exposure and time-lapse photography, even on the brightest of days. The result? Gorgeous, surreal images like those seen above and below.

The Super Dark comes in two sizes - small at 67mm and large at 82mm. Both sizes come with step up rings so you can adapt them to work with other lens sizes. Better yet, if you already have one of Syrp’s motion control units, the Super Dark is an excellent addition to help you create a more natural feel and look to your time-lapses.

The Super Dark is on pre-order now, with shipping to begin on December 15, 2016. If you want to take your photography to the next level, give serious thought about adding a Super Dark to your kit. I know I am!
