I remember when mirrorless cameras first came out.

I thought they were interesting little things, but I wasn't all that jazzed to have one.

Well, times have changed, and I have a couple mirrorless cameras in my kit now.

They're great - small, lightweight, super portable, and there's no shortage of high-performance features, either.

I think a lot of people are finding the light, so to speak, and trading in their DSLRs for mirrorless bodies.

With that in mind, here are a few mirrorless camera accessories you might want to add to your kit.

Editor's Note: A lot of companies put out excellent accessories for mirrorless cameras. At the top of that list, though, is Spider Holster, which makes single and dual-camera holsters, hand straps, camera plates and belts, and even attachments to carry your mirrorless camera on a backpack. We feature a few of their products below. For more information, visit their website.

SpiderLight Holster

This lightweight holster simply slides onto your belt and gives you the ability to carry your mirrorless camera safely and securely, right at your fingertips.

With the Spider Plate attached to your camera's tripod mount, you've got a complete system for carrying your camera with ease - and retrieving it quickly when you need it as well.

Being able to draw from the hip means that you will miss fewer shots when time is of the essence. No more digging around in your camera bag to grab your camera!

But don't think that because the SpiderLight Holster is small that it's not durable and functional.

The all-metal construction ensures that the holster will safely support your gear.

The two-position metal lock means you not only get a secure hold between the camera and holster, but you also get quick-draw action as well.

Even better, this thing was designed smartly, so your camera will move with you as you move, but it won't be in your way, either.

Speaking of not being in the way, the Spider Plate is specifically designed to attach to the camera body without blocking the battery door.

You can connect your camera to any tripod plate as well, even with the Spider Plate still attached!

In other words, it's the most efficient, safe, and secure way to carry your mirrorless camera.

SpiderLight Hand Strap

Not only do you need a way to carry your camera safely, but you also need a way to improve your grip on it as you're shooting.

The beauty of mirrorless cameras is that they're so small. But that small form factor takes a little getting used to, especially if you're coming from a DSLR system that's big and chunky.

The SpiderLight Hand Strap is the ideal solution for holding your camera

That's because it was specifically designed for mirrorless systems and small DSLRs.

You can get your hand in and out of the strap quickly, but without sacrificing a snug fit that ensures a nice feel between your hand and your camera.

The unique curvature of the strap is intentional - it puts your hand in the perfect shooting position, freeing up your fingers and thumb.

And since your fingers and thumb are free, you can easily reach all your camera's controls.

It's just built well, too - like all of Spider Holster's gear - and feels nice and sturdy on your hand.

You can use the strap with any tripod, and with any leading mirrorless camera as well.

It's also compatible with the SpiderLight Holster I previously reviewed, so you can have the ultimate setup for carrying and holding your camera!

SpiderLight Backpacker

If you're the adventurous type, you might need a method of carrying your camera that shifts your camera from your hip to someplace else.

But where?

With the SpiderLight Backpacker, you can have your camera right where you need it - on your chest, safely and securely attached to your backpack.

Just use the quick snap-in connection to fasten the SpiderLight Backpacker to your bag's strap. Then click in your SpiderLight Holster, and you're ready to carry your camera in comfort and with ease.

But don't let the name fool you...

The SpiderLight Backpacker will work on messenger bags, too!

And since Spider Holster really thinks through their product design, this little gadget enables you to seamlessly shift your camera from your hip to your backpack strap in mere seconds.

The holster lock keeps your camera locked in place, and the integrated velcro elastic strap wraps around your lens, keeping it from swaying to and fro as you walk.

You can even use the SpiderLight Backpacker with your GoPro and get awesome point-of-view photos and videos as you hike.

In other words, these SpiderLight accessories not only help you carry your gear, but they can make you more productive.

Get your camera faster, get more shots, carry your gear more securely. What's not to like about that?
