"Aiden's Walk With Santa." Edit by Mark Heaps.

If you’re a parent, you know there is nothing more special than Christmastime. It means too much sugar, the chance to hunt for the perfect tree, and most importantly, tales of Santa Claus.

Sadly, for many children around the world, Christmastime only serves as a sad reminder of terminal illnesses and time with family that is being missed. These children miss out on the Christmas magic.

A nonprofit, the Heart Project, which is led by celebrity photographer Karen Alsop, promised to bring Christmas magic to over 200 sick children this holiday season. They didn’t disappoint.

After two years in one city, the nonprofit expanded its reach this year and sent over 100 volunteer photographers to 4 countries to photograph hundreds of children in front of green screens. Photographers and artists then photoshopped the children into snowy scenes with Santa, his reindeer, and their family members.

The transformations are jaw-dropping.
