Yes you will need work visa, and you will need to declare the income on your normal tax returns.

Getty is jacked up, but this won't stick

Neillien replied to the topic 'What are your worst habits when shooting?' in the forum. 4 hours 29 minutes ago

Forgetting to charge my battery or empty my memory card before going out for a shoot. Every time it happens, I tell myself that I'll never make such a stupid mistake again...nevertheless it still happens pretty frequently. C'est la vie...

Rob created a new topic ' Why do you use dual memory cards when one is enough?' in the forum. 4 hours 32 minutes ago

Many of the newer cameras have two slots.  I just don't get it when you can use just one card.  Seems like added space, and cost built into the camera.  Heck, I would rather see GPS positioning or something cool vs this feature.

Care to add your 2 cents?

Neillien created a new topic ' Anyone out there interested in alternative photographic processes?' in the forum. 4 hours 34 minutes ago

Not exactly film photography, but though I might run this question by here anyway.
Having been on this site for just a few weeks, I haven't been able to find any topics regarding alternative processes (palladium prints, wet plate collodion, cyanotypes, salt prints, etc.) and I was wondering if anyone here had an interest in them as well. I am just starting to experiment with Van Dyke Brown Prints and Cyanotypes myself and would love to see work from others with similar interests!

Mine now, thank you

Catchy shot!  How are you framing up the shot before the little guy moves out of frame?

Thank you, most important issue in taking a tripod shot is squaring up to the subject to maximize the focal plane and DoF. I do the initial tripod setup by eye roughing it in. Do this enough times and it one gets fairly adept with the initial setup. Once I have things roughed in, eye to the viewfinder for final squaring and framing. I have a L-Plate on my camera. I attach a nodal rail to the L-Plate. The nodal rail is secured in an arca clamp on a Manfrotto Jr. Gear Head 410. This setup affords me 5 axes of movement. With a little practice one can quickly do the final framing and focal plane selection. Final attention to shot detail(s) includes mirror lock up and a remote shutter release.
