A Species Enchenopa binotata - Two-marked Treehopper,  Some sort of Treehopper nymph and a small bee loaded down with pollen. I'm also including a Ladybug Larava with an Aphid in it's mouth.

I have the shot of picking up a used Nikon 135mm f/2 DC for a good price.  Well I'm waiting on answer.  Is it true this lens is the king of bokeh?

I wouldn't even put it in the top 20.

Me either. There are all kinds of 1.8 and 1.4 lenses that will usually be better.

The question was incomplete, and led to a variety of answers. What magazine will credit the photographer, AND post processor/photoshopper?

Sharon replied to the topic 'Drone liability in case of crash while shooting wedding?' in the forum. 1 hour 10 minutes ago

I'm more familiar with sports and events, and from what I last read it's illegal to fly a drone over a stadium during a game/concert and for a certain amount of time before or after the game/event.

I don't know if there are regulations about flying one over a smaller outdoor event. Seems like the concern is not just if someone loses control of one and it crashes and damages property but if it would hit and injure someone at an event.

This is some of the latest info. I've seen. For business use it mentions Section 333.

I don't need to "act" crazy...;)
Actually, I'd have either ignored the dolt, or told him one more word and he'd be spitting some teeth. I'm getting less patient with stupidity the older I get.....

Its good you agree......

Beautifully done John, I like the blue and golden tones.

Sharon replied to the topic 'Are you a serious or a socialite photographer?' in the forum. 1 hour 35 minutes ago

I think you mean sociable, since a socialite is someone who goes to society events, and being sociable can be a help in engaging subjects and interacting with people. I think there's an expectation for a professional to be businesslike as appropriate to the occasion too.

I've found having done sports and events that photography involves a certain amount of dealing with people. So it's probably a balance of conducting yourself in a friendly businesslike way.

Yes, it was :watching:

Augustin created a new topic ' What do I need in order to tether my camera to Lightroom?' in the forum. 1 hour 41 minutes ago

I have a Nikon D70 that I would like to tether directly to Lightroom.  What is needed to make this happen?

Just to clarify, when I take a photo, it will instantly show up on my computer in Lightroom.

Thank you

Sharon replied to the topic 'Do you need to give credit...' in the forum. 1 hour 41 minutes ago

I think Bob's right, you'd probably need a release signed but I don't think a model credit is usually given.

How is the photo going to be used, in an article or an ad? For editorial use (an article) you may or may not need a release (so probably better to get one signed). I don't think the model would be named unless the article was about fashion or modeling, etc.

If it's an ad you'd definitely need a release to use someone's image for commercial work like advertising, but there usually doesn't seem to be a photo credit for the photographer or any sort of credit for the model for an ad.

Try or PPA for info.

Hey Shaun,

If you want my 2 cents. It's all about what you find helpful to your needs.  We all have different needs and while some may find PaintShop Pro a great tool that does everything they need, others will require something with more features.

How do you like it?

There was a incredible sunset going on yesterday and there were a number of other photographers with tripods out along this road to get the shot.  So I decided to pull over and set up.  I was 15' away from another photographer and no sooner did I get set up.  He came over frantically yelling at me.  "This is my spot"  "This is my spot".  Now, mind you, this guy had his camera set up 15' away from where I was.   And there was a string of photographers on the other side of him.

Nutty guy

I would have set up my tripod, and took a picture of him.  I'd then tell him I was just documenting him using his spot.  Then hug him.

If somebody is crazy, just be more crazy.:kmonst:

The D810 is said to have a half stop better high ISO, and lacks an AA filter among a couple other things. I don't see it worth a thousand dollar upgrade, which is what it would likely cost. I'll wait and see what the next generation offers...(the D810 replacement). My D800 simply rocks anyway.

Amen to that.  Plus switching gear so really don't get to learn it like you should.

When your camera becomes an extension of you, there's less between you and the vision you're trying to portray..instead of getting stuck in menus. :kmonst:
