Position your camera in the path people and be ready for the shot.  That way you cut down on last minute calls.

Just use your fill flash in manual mode and set for a stop or two less than ambient lighting.

Chris created a new topic ' Removing A Fly from ‘Weather Sealed’ Canon 70-200mm lens' in the forum. 4 weeks ago

Now this is just one interesting story.  This lens was just serviced 15 months prior and when you look at the level of depth this thing was in the lens, it's hard to imagine how it got in there?  I agree with the Lensrental guy  that  perhaps he made it in as a maggot.  But still, I didn't see him remove the cocoon shell from that either.

He does do some interesting test to see if you notice the fly from an optical stand point.  Good read -

How do you think the fly got in there?

Clarification: I don't subscribe to the notion that some racial epithets are okay and others are not. No matter who or where they come from.

Let me clarify again, it wasn't meant to be racial in anyway.  In terms of racial bs that is often used for certain ethnic groups, saying "Pedro" is not considered one.  I have a low tolerance for racial bs myself, and I wouldn't say something with that intent (my family were immigrants to this country back in the day and plenty of names you can call me).

So if you perceived it that way, my apologies.  I was trying to be funny and I didn't mean to offend or hurt anyones feelings.

Yep agree, it kind of has a dreamy feeling to it.  Very relaxing shot, this would look great on acrylic print.

That is a drop in the bucket for what it will cost to rebuild. The architectural and engineering fees alone will be astronomical. It will take several million just to clean the mess up and clean the stone before they can begin.

It was already undergoing a 170 million restoration when the fire began. Now what will be the cost? Maybe 1 to 2 billion before it's finished?

WHAT?  $1 to 2 billion?  Not a chance.

Pick up a few Pedro's from in front of Home Depot and they'll have that mess cleaned up in a few weeks for under $10,000.

Seriously watching the Northrups videos remind me of of SNL Delicious Dish.  Watch just 30 seconds of the Northrup video, and then watch one of these clips.  You'll see!!

LMAO!!!!

I seem to recall one of the photo boards that I belong to chatting about this a few months ago.  I was flying and just scanned the thread without responding.  But just started to think about this and the need for doing this.

I mean how can you test to see if your gear needs such focus tuning?

If it turns out that there is something off, is this an app, or ??? that is used for doing the tune?

I never understood this camera to start with.  Very strange and  seemed over engineered for little gains over what  was on market already.
