The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens for Sony cameras is about half the price of Sony’s equivalent, and yet it shoots in much the same way.
Like just about all Sigma lenses for Sony, it sort of blows the Sony equivalent out of the water in terms of pricing, plus it is much lighter and smaller than previous Sigma lenses for Sony.
Jared Polin got his hands on this lens a few months before it’s set to release, and he shared all of the details in the video above.
This lens will be the perfect lens for you if you’re used to shooting in a wide-variety of environments because it comes with a zoom lock mechanism. It’s also dust and splash resistant and it features max magnifications of 1:2.9 at the wide-angle and 1:4.5 at the telephoto end.

This Sigma 24-70mm lens is expected to drop on December 17th for $1,100.
But, if a month’s notice isn’t enough for you to save $1,100, then you should check out Lensfinder. Lensfinder is a filters and lens marketplace where you can find the latest used gear for much cheaper than if you had bought this gear brand new.
I shop on Lensfinder because photographers sell on Lensfinder, so the newest equipment is up on the site months before the same equipment shows up on eBay or Craigslist, and I can ask as many in-depth, technical questions of the sellers as I want. They can almost always answer me.
And, I find that hobbyists selling to fellow hobbyists tend to care more about being forthright about the shape of the equipment. Their equipment is usually in better shape too!
From that point of view, Lensfinder is a win-win.
