The "Problem" With Leather Camera Straps is Now Solved
If you've followed my ramblings here on PhotographyTalk over the years, you know that I'm a sucker for a good leather camera strap.
For years, I've used Holdfast products - primarily, their MoneyMaker dual camera harness and their MoneyMaker Solo camera strap. I've reviewed both the MoneyMaker and the MoneyMaker Solo if you want in-depth details.
As I mentioned in both reviews, these leather straps are gorgeous.
And while I appreciate a gorgeous strap, there's a "problem..." They're just too pretty to take on certain jobs and certain locations. A prime example of this is landscape photography. The last thing I want to do is take my gorgeous leather camera strap to the Sierra Nevadas or Norway or some other hostile environment and risk getting my beautiful strap all wet, dirty, and gross.
Don't get me wrong - my MoneyMaker and MoneyMaker solo are built like tanks. From a durability standpoint, they can certainly handle adverse weather.
Likewise, they are hugely functional and the comfort levels are off the charts. Again, these are big bonuses for landscape photography (well...any kind of photography, really).
The same can be said of my Peter McKinnon Nomatic Camera Pack. That thing is stunningly beautiful and built for hard work, but a little part of me dies each time I have to set it on the ground because I hate to get it dirty.
Anyway, I've been wondering for a few months how I could get around this "problem" with my leather camera straps, and what do you know...Holdfast just solved the problem for me.

I'm not much of a crazy colors kind of guy, but if that's your thing, the Vegan MoneyMaker will be right up your alley.
This thing comes in a wide range of colors, including neon yellow, hot pink, and orange. If you're more the subtle type, the classic options of black, brown, and olive are available too.
All told, there are 14 different colors from which to choose. If coordinating your camera strap with your favorite kicks or dress or suit is a must, there's no shortage of colors!

It's hard to top the original MoneyMaker - it was a game-changer for me. But the Vegan MoneyMaker is definitely up there.
