If you’ve been playing around with different canvas print accessories lately, then you aren’t alone. Canvas prints with frames are all the rage in interior design right now.
However, out of all of the canvas print options, I’m personally a huge fan of floating frames. Floating frames for canvas prints make your images look as if they are actually in the room, instead of on the wall. Floating frames for canvas prints make your 2D art very 3-dimensional.
Floating frames for canvas prints are also elegant, so they can be used in almost any home. Whereas a more traditional frame for your canvas print might clash with a more modern aesthetic, floating frames for canvas prints fit in wherever.
And CanvasHQ recently unveiled a new series of floating frames for canvas prints. All of their characteristics are defined below.
Gold SOHO Frame
The Gold SOHO Frame is definitely one of my favorite floating frames for canvas prints because it is such a modern aesthetic.
It looks like it belongs in a New York City loft, which is likely where it gets its name. The Gold SOHO frame is made of a shiny gold-colored metal. The frame itself is pretty thin so that it doesn’t take away from the artwork it is framing.
The professionals at CanvasHQ recommend that you choose the Gold SOHO frame if your print features warmer tones. Given the fact that the finish on this frame looks antique, it also works with family portraits or vintage prints.
Silver Forma Frame
The Silver Forma Frame is another frame option for someone who is looking for a more modern look on their print.
Just like the Gold SOHO Frame, the Silver Forma Frame comes with a slightly antiquated look, though it is silver in color instead of gold.
The Silver Forma Frame is a good option for someone who is designing a midcentury room, since it compliments furniture pieces from this era.
It is also a good option for prints that have a cooler tone. A black and white image would also be beautiful in the Silver Forma frame.

Brown Walnut Grain Forma Frame
If you don’t like modern floating frames for canvas prints, CanvasHQ still has you covered. One of the most traditional frames that they offer is the Brown Walnut Grain Forma Frame.
This frame looks like it would be right at home in a cabin. While the frame itself is not made out of wood, you wouldn’t know this looking at it. It is made out of polystyrene, but is cut and stapled like wood is. Then, before it gets shipped out, it is given a brown walnut grain matte finish.
The print professionals at CanvasHQ made this decision in order to keep this frame as light as possible, while still maintaining a traditional wooden frame look.
White Forma Frame
This White Forma Frame is a good way to frame images that have a lot of color, especially if that color includes a lot of whites/pastels.
The White Forma Frame also looks like it could be made out of wood, though it isn’t. It is made out of the same polystyrene that the Brown Walnut Grain Forma Frame is.
The White Forma Frame does look a little more modern, so it won’t be the best option for someone with a more traditional home. It does bring more light to a room and will make whatever wall you place it on look larger than it is.
Black Forma Frame
The final frame option, the Black Forma Frame, is essentially the same thing as the White Forma Frame (except for its color).
Black frames bring elegance and class to a space. So, the Black Forma Frame is a good option for someone who is decorating a home office, movie room, or sophisticated master bedroom.
