Timelapse Photography Just Got Easier
Thanks to the folks over at Syrp, timelapse photography just got easier.
If you've been a PhotographyTalk follower for any length of time, you probably already know that Syrp is one of my favorite companies. I've been using their gear for the last six years.
But one of the things that was lacking in their lineup was a rig that made getting vertical shots an easier task. Syrp's new Tilt Platform does just that.
As you can see above, I have my Nikon Z7 attached to the Tilt Platform, which is in turn attached to the Genie II Linear and my Syrp Magic Carpet.
Clearly, the slider is not on a horizontal plane, so the Tilt Platform enabled me to get perfectly level, vertical footage.

The Tilt Platform couldn't be easier to use, either. It requires no tools, has angle markings to help you dial in accurate adjustments, and it has a 3/8-16" - 1/4-20" UNC thread adapter in the base to expand its mounting options.
Just use the easy-adjustable knob to change the lever tension to secure your camera, and away you go.

Better still, you can position it at up to 180-degrees to get all sorts of unique film sequences.
And let's face it - being able to move your camera in a unique way is one of the easiest ways to improve the production value of your videos. With a vertical shot sequence with the Tilt Platform, you can reveal interesting elements in the scene, like objects in the midground that are revealed as the camera moves upward away from the foreground elements.
With a maximum payload of 13.2 pounds, you can load this thing up with gear and still have peace of mind too!

While I use the Tilt Platform with my Syrp Magic Carpet, it's compatible with other sliders, so you don't have to buy a Syrp slider to reap the benefits of this little rig.
It can also be used with either manually operated sliders or with motion control, so there's tons of options for incorporating the Tilt Platform into your workflow.

It's been a great addition to my gear set up the last few weeks and has enabled me to create much more unique videos. I have full confidence it'll have the same effect on your videos as well.
