Over the years, I've tested a lot of prints from a lot of printing companies. I've tested paper prints, metal prints, and canvas prints. I've also tested acrylic prints from a great number of companies.
I've found that most companies do a perfectly acceptable job of printing images, no matter the substrate. Some do a terrible job, too! Yet, others absolutely knock it out of the park. That's where my focus is today...
I wanted to see how some of the printing companies that have impressed me the most over the years did with a large acrylic print. So, today, I'll give you the low-down on the prints I got from Nevada Art Printers, Printique, and Artbeat Studios.
Now, unlike some of my other comparison articles, I'm not declaring a winner here. Instead, these are all top-shelf options for your acrylic printing needs. So, in no particular order, let's have a look at these bad boys!

Nevada Art Printers Large Acrylic Print
Nevada Art Printers offers a wide range of printing services, but I was especially interested in testing out their large acrylic prints, as I hadn't tested their acrylics before.
As you can see in the image above, this big ol' print looks very nice on the wall above the bed frame in my son's room (apologies for the reflection from the window). This is a Lumachrome acrylic print that has incredible clarity, resolution, and vibrancy. It's hard to tell from the photos above and below, but the red color of the buildings really pops, especially against the cool tones in the rest of the image.
There's an incredible depth to the shot as well - the acrylic gives it a three-dimensional feel and a visual weight that other types of prints simply can't pull off.

Printique Large Acrylic Print
I actually ordered two different large acrylic prints from Printique...
First is a triptych (shown above) that fits very nicely on a large wall in my house. The panels are 24x36 inches each and add a nice pop of color and tons of drama to the space.
Again, it's hard to tell in the photos I took of these prints, but the depth of color and detail is very impressive. This print also has a lot of shadow detail that contrasts nicely with the brighter areas of the leaves.
As you can see above, I chose a mounting system that "suspends" the prints away from the wall to give them a three-dimensional look. I really love the effect that this mounting system gives these prints. The matte black covers on the mounting points are a nice touch, as they don't detract from the visual appeal of the triptych.
Speaking of visual appeal, part of the reason why these prints are so visually impressive is the printing process used by Printique. The acrylic is bright and glossy for a modern feel while the high-resolution direct printing process ensures that colors are accurate and that contrast and image details are maintained.
There's something to be said for the attention to detail in the manufacturing process, too. The cut edges are perfect, the mounting hardware is sturdy, and the overall print shows a level of commitment to creating a very fine product. Of course, that's something I can say about all three companies I'm discussing in this article!
The second print I ordered from Printique is the 40x60 abstract piece shown above. It has the same off-the-wall mounting hardware as the triptych that gives it more visual weight on the wall.
And while this is a very different print from the first, it still has a dynamic depth of color, contrast, and detail, which demonstrates that virtually any kind of photo or artwork looks great as a large acrylic print.

Artbeat Studios Large Acrylic Print
I chose to hang the large acrylic print I got from Artbeat Studios in the stairwell of my home. It's a skinny space (since your field of view is constrained by the walls on either side of the steps) and a very tall space, too. That made it a perfect spot for a portrait-oriented acrylic print!
Like the other prints I've already discussed, this one really stands out on the wall with a vibrancy and contrast that's truly impressive. This particular shot has a lot of bright green and bright white tones that really catch your eye. The shadowed areas of the shot provide beautiful contrast that's enhanced by Artbeat Studios' high-definition acrylic.

There's corner reinforcements, beautiful miter cuts that fit together perfectly, and a mounting system that couldn't be easier to use (just attach the horizontal mounting plate to the wall and hang the print!).

The Best Acrylic Prints
