Why This is the Best Leather Camera Bag on the Market
As a photographer, I obviously don’t leave my house without my gear. Over the years, I’ve grown to love leather camera bags for their durability (and their looks, if I’m honest).
I’ve gone through my fair share of top leather camera bags, bouncing from one to the next when a new article drops about a different brand.

Leather is durable. But, buffalo leather is more durable which is why Holdfast uses buffalo hides for many of their products.
While both cow leather and buffalo leather are incredibly strong, buffalo leather is typically not stretched during the tanning process, whereas cow leather is, so Holdfast’s bags are much thicker than other camera leather bags on the market.
Buffalo leather is also highly prized for its unique attributes. When cow leather is tanned, the tanners use modern-day chemicals to try and produce the same product each time across the board.
Buffalo leather, however, is more often used with high-end products because it doesn’t go through this process. My first Holdfast leather camera bag actually had part of the branding from the buffalo still intact, so I know nobody has the exact same bag as me.
The Roamographer also uses stainless steel hardware so you never need to worry about rust, which is super important in my humid environment.
Finally, the Roamographer’s inside is crafted from supple cotton which both feels great and prevents my equipment from getting scratched.

As I mentioned before, the inside of the Roamographer is created using the softest cotton. This extra padding allows me to feel confident my lenses are as protected as possible.
The above cubbies keep all of my equipment exactly where it should be, plus they are removable which allows for easy cleaning. If you have kids who happen to get into everything you own and drop shaved ice all over it (I’m experienced in this realm), you know how important easy pick up is.

I opted for the smaller of the two, which is still large enough to fit all of my camera gear, my keys, and my wallet comfortably.

I think this is probably my favorite quality about this leather camera bag: you can wear it in a variety of ways.
