Forum Terms of Use-- PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Welcome!

Before participating in the forums, please read the Forum rules and guidelines. These rules exist for your own protection and to ensure that the forums remain a friendly, safe and supportive environment for all users.

Forum posts and messages express the views of their authors, not of the Administrator or Agents of PhotographyTalk.com. We are not responsible for the content of any message. Although the Administrators and Agents of the forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages.

By using the Site, you agree that you are at least 16 years of age, and are fully able and competent to enter into the terms, conditions, and obligations.

You agree that you will not post any messages or upload photos that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any laws. This is a PG-Rated forum and we want to keep it that way.

The Agents and Administrators of PhotographyTalk.com reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. We also reserve the right to ban any user from access to this website for any reason.

We log IP addresses; anything close to spam will be deleted and your IP may be reported to your ISP.

You agree that your use of the Private Message function may be monitored. You agree that if we have substantial reasons to suspect that you used the Forum’s Private Message function to send unsolicited messages promoting commercial interests, the Administrators may view these Private Messages and delete them at their discretion.

Your screen name may not be your email, business name, or your website, this would be advertising, and is forbidden unless you are an approved supporting vendor. Screen names must not be racist, vulgar or inappropriate in any way. User avatars must not be offensive, indecent, or contain nudity. The Agents and Administrators have final say in what is considered inappropriate.

Do not post the same message to multiple forums, this is cross-posting and multiple posts will be purged.

Thread titles should be descriptive; vague titles may be changed to match the content of the thread.

Links to competitors' sites will be deleted and a possible user ban at the discretion of the Administrators.

Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Please report bad posts instead of engaging in flame wars on the boards. Insulting another member or an Agent will not be tolerated anywhere on this website. This includes Private Messages.

If you disagree with something, explain why.

Stay on topic. Attempts to hi-jack threads by switching topics or going off topic will be deleted and warnings issued.

Hate speech, racism or bashing of ANY sort will NOT be tolerated. Rude posts will be removed and warnings issued. Report all bad posts by use the report feature instead.

"Trolling" is prohibited.

"Outing" users by revealing their personal address, phone number, or other information that they didn't themselves share is prohibited. Anyone caught doing this will be banned immediately.

Members’ opinions or critiques are just that. Leave room for dialogue, others may not share the same views as you and any one of us can be wrong. Pouncing on someone you disagree with runs contrary to the spirit of this board and its members. We are here to help each other. Anyone violating this rule will be issued a warning and multiple warnings will result in user ban.

Please use the Search Forum tool to find info you need, as much has already been written about. If you don't find it, please sign in and ask your questions. New users should use the Search Forum tool before posting a question that may have already been answered.

When asking questions give as much detail as possible so we can hone in on the info you need. The more you tell us, the faster others will be able to reply with specificity.

Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by an Agent or Administrator at their discretion without any warning to the participants.

Copyrighted Material; you may not use the site to violate anyone’s copyright, trademark, intellectual property rights, or privacy rights. The User Content that you submit must be your work. Instead of copying-and-pasting articles, photos, or other material you find on the Internet, you should be posting links to those articles. Posting a snippet from the article and then the link is the appropriate way to post.

Do not reveal your email address or make it public without scrambling it; there are web crawlers gathering email address for spammers.

Discussing moderator actions (deleting/moving/editing threads or posts) or continuous public criticism of the site is not allowed and will not be tolerated in the forums.
Any particular issues will only be dealt with in Private Messages sent to an Agent or Administrator. All complaints should be sent via Private Message to the Administrators, PT Admin or PhotographyTalk.

Signatures must not contain commercial advertisement unless you are an approved supporting vendor. You must not have direct links to competitor sites or you may be banned.

For our complete terms of use, please visit www.photographytalk.com/terms-of-use . If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Administrators, PT Admin or PhotographyTalk.

Thanks for your cooperation! -- PT Team
